Epilepsy South Africa
The only national non-profit in South Africa working exclusively with people living with epilepsy and other disabilities, through specialised services, education and economic empowerment.
Epilepsy South Africa is the only national non-profit organisation in the country focusing exclusively on specialised, comprehensive services for people living with epilepsy and other disabilities. Its work includes education as well as economic empowerment through job creation, entrepreneurship and skills training.
The organisation is made up of a coordinating national office in Cape Town and six regional branches: Western Cape, South Cape/Karoo, Eastern Cape, Gauteng, Free State & North West, and Mpumalanga & Limpopo.
Its aim is a society in which people with epilepsy and other disabilities have equal opportunity to function optimally and reach their fullest potential in every sphere of life.
For someone living with epilepsy, a MedicAlert emblem means that a bystander who finds them mid-seizure or afterwards knows what is happening and who to call.
