National Osteoporosis Foundation of South Africa
NOFSA raises awareness of osteoporosis in South Africa and campaigns for earlier diagnosis, prevention and treatment of fragile bones.
The National Osteoporosis Foundation of South Africa (NOFSA) is dedicated to raising awareness of osteoporosis, providing education, and advocating for the prevention and treatment of the condition.
NOFSA publishes educational resources on bone health and runs national awareness campaigns, including South Africa’s World Osteoporosis Day activities. Its office is in Durbanville in the Western Cape.
Osteoporosis is often called a silent condition, because it is frequently only diagnosed after a fracture. Awareness and early diagnosis are central to the Foundation’s work.
